Senior Front End Software Engineer

We are a fast growing tech company with a target audience in life sciences (academia and industry). Our business is growing rapidly, and we are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer who can help us scale our business by delivering effective technology solutions. The ideal candidate must have a deep knowledge and broad experience in both evaluating and implementing different software architecture styles. At the same time this role requires you to be fully hands-on and coding on a daily basis using JavaScript and you will be heading a small team of two other mid-level developers.

Duties

• Guiding a small team of two other front end developers. This includes:

• Extracting the Front-End from an existing Ruby on Rails application.
• Writing high quality DRY code using the Test Driven Development principles
• Having ownership of the overall code quality of the team and performing code reviews of the other team members in your team.
• Continuously improve product quality by writing effective tests, identifying places that require refactoring and specifying acceptance testing criteria for the team.

Skills & qualifications we are looking for:

• JavaScript ES6
• Familiarity with a front end frameworks and libraries like (React, Svelte, Angular, Backbone)
• Experience with a API-oriented service architecture using either a REST-ful or GraphQL API.

• CI/CD tools and automation
• Test Driven Development using (Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, Nightwatch, etc.)
• Source Control with Git and GitLab with various flows

Bonus points if you are familiar with either:

• Software Security and automated static security scanners
• Service oriented architecture
• Svelte
